Atlassian is seeking a visionary and influential Field Chief Technology Officer (fCTO) to serve as a trusted advisor to our most strategic enterprise customers in the EMEA region. The Field CTO helps executives navigate technology, organizational, and business transformation—ensuring that Atlassian’s cloud platform delivers measurable, enterprise-grade impact at scale.
As a Field CTO, you will represent Atlassian externally with CxOs and industry leaders while shaping Atlassian internally through roadmap influence, product feedback, and thought leadership. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and business outcomes—inspiring both customers and Atlassian teams to unlock what’s possible.

Act as a trusted C-suite advisor, engaging credibly with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and business executives on technology strategy, risk, governance, and organizational agility.
Partner with Atlassian leadership to align enterprise technology strategy with customer outcomes and business objectives.
Mentor and enable Atlassian’s field teams and partners to elevate customer conversations and scale executive engagement globally.
Serve as the voice of the customer inside Atlassian, championing enterprise requirements across security, compliance, governance, and operational reliability.
Champion Atlassian’s enterprise-grade capabilities—scalability, performance, security, compliance, governance, and resilience.
Provide architectural guidance for enterprise-scale adoption, cloud migrations, and operational best practices.
Influence Atlassian’s product and platform roadmaps by bringing forward customer insights, industry trends, and regulatory requirements, with a proven ability to drive change.
Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to ensure enterprise needs are prioritized and reflected in platform investments.
Define and track customer success criteria, ensuring enterprise adoption translates into tangible business value.
Lead impactful executive engagements—including Executive Briefings, Roundtables, Board-level discussions, and 1:1s—to deepen trust and accelerate adoption.
Partner with sales and account teams to expand Atlassian’s footprint by framing enterprise solutions in terms of business outcomes and risk mitigation.
Identify opportunities for upsell and cross-sell by highlighting enterprise capabilities that drive security, compliance, and governance outcomes.
Build long-term trusted relationships with strategic customers, ensuring alignment of Atlassian’s roadmap with their enterprise transformation journeys.
Represent Atlassian at global conferences, analyst briefings, and executive forums as a thought leader on enterprise collaboration, security, and transformation at scale.
Build relationships with key ecosystem partners, integrators, and regulators to extend Atlassian’s industry influence.
Publish thought leadership on emerging technology and business trends—including AI, automation, distributed systems, and enterprise collaboration models.
Stay ahead of evolving industry and regulatory landscapes (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA) to guide both Atlassian and customer strategies.
Proven senior technology leadership experience (Field CTO, CTO, Chief Architect, or equivalent) with direct executive engagement in enterprise SaaS environments.
Deep expertise in enterprise-grade cloud capabilities—scale, performance, security, compliance, governance, and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and roadmaps based on enterprise requirements and market trends.
Proven experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, etc.) and ability to articulate their value in large, complex environments.
Strong executive presence and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence at the C-suite and Board level.
Experience working across regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, government) and navigating compliance/regulatory challenges.
Cloud-native experience, high-scale SaaS expertise, and knowledge of distributed systems are a strong plus.
A track record of driving measurable customer and revenue impact through technology leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field required.
Master’s degree in a business or technical discipline (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
This role requires frequent engagement with customers and may include domestic and international travel.
