About this role
Atlassian’s second flagship product, Confluence, is evolving from a knowledge base into a connected workspace for all teams. As part of this evolution, we’re looking for a Lead Content Designer who can help us shape the future of our product, while also driving towards coherence with Atlassian’s suite of products.

As a Lead Content Designer in the Confluence Core area, you’ll help shape the future of Confluence, driving towards a lovable, mission critical collaboration product. Confluence Core looks after Live Docs, Pages, Whiteboards, Databases, Onboarding and much more. You’ll create clear, concise, and compelling product content using a broad range of content design skills. You’ll also work with other Content Designers to shape content practices across Atlassian.

Responsibilities

As a lead content designer you’ll:

  • Deliver strong, consistent UI content to support myriad projects

  • Lead journey mapping, persona, and flow development and develop end-to-end experiences for multiple customer needs 

  • Align terminology across a complex framework and own information clarity

  • Drive alignment through strong presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Partner on vision work in collaboration with design, engineering, and product

  • Build documentation to support customers

  • Create and refine information architectures to increase clarity and cohesion

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also bring:

  • 10+ years experience in the content space + demonstrated track record for success in the Saas space

  • Experience taking responsibility for assigned areas, planning, organizing, and implementing projects to meet established goals on time

  • A good track record of being adaptive and flexible in the face of change and ambiguity

  • The ability to engage deliver against different goals, projects, and work streams and get up to speed efficiently

  • A growth mindset that balances data-informed insights alongside customer research streams

  • The ability to work in design tools like Figma to collaborate with product designers on projects

  • Knowledge of taxonomy development and management to support development of customization

  • A keen desire to mentor and develop other designers


Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $188,700 - $251,600

Zone B: $169,900 - $226,500

Zone C: $156,600 - $208,900

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
